Chef Vikas Khanna and Smile foundation recently joined Tropicana in their wonderful ‘Gift A Tree’ initiative in their commitment to give back to nature. The initiative kicked off on Diwali this year, with the mission to plant 25,000 trees and make our planet go green.

Turning A New Leaf

Chef Vikas Khanna supported the initiative at a time when the city was struggling to breathe. In fact, it was around the same time that he also launched his third children’s book – A Tree Named Ganga. The book is a burst of colour, wrapped in a simple story of a tree that grows, wins, gets arrogant and then finally becomes humble again. It’s the selfless nature that the tree gets reconnected with and it’s this selflessness that we all need to embrace. It’s no surprise then, that Vikas’ thought process resonated with Smile Foundation and Tropicana’s green city mission.

It All Starts With The Kids

The first people the initiative speaks to is children because they are the future. If nurtured the right way, they can take the learnings back home every day and spread the word to make this a better place to live. The event today had children coming from Delhi International School and Health & Care Society – a Mission Education centre of Smile Foundation to participate.

So, We Are Saying…

You don’t have to be Chef Vikas Khanna to do a good deed. Pollution is just getting worse in the city and we are running out of shade; We think this is the best way to fight back. Join the #TropicanaGiftATree initiative and join the green movement.
