Following massive complaints from citizens who were facing prices that were at three-four times the normal rates, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced last week that strict action would be taken against cab companies who hiked prices during the odd-even scheme. He announced today that cabs which charge more than government-prescribed rates, would face "strict action including permit cancellation and impounding."

Following that, Uber has announced that they've "temporarily suspended" surge pricing. Yay.

They tweeted: "Given the threat to the livelihood of our partners, at the expense of reliability, we are temporarily suspending surge with immediate effect."

Uber also announced that all uberMOTO rides across Gurgaon will be at a flat rate of INR 10, no strings attached. Wowza. Well, we're happy.
