Broke Friends Planning A Vacay? Book This Scenic Homestay With Dogs & Orchards

A hidden gem in Vashist, Manali, this Himalayan home is for friends who don’t mind a bit of walking, doggie love and chill, nature time. It involves a long trek up, crossing waterfalls and apple orchards but is every bit worth the climb. Another great thing: You can stay here with up to three more people for INR 3,500 a night.

    Rise Above Manic Mondays

We’re guessing you’ve already had enough of Delhi’s horns and hurried office cabs and are looking to unwind without the typical Manali chaos, right? In that sense, this house is perfect. This family cottage is perched 4,000m into the sky – so it’s blissfully secluded and the views are stunning.

If we were holidaying with our pals, we’d reserve the days for chilling by secret waterfalls and nights for endless rounds of Monopoly {or UNO or Dumb Charades} and chips. Whether you’ve got a miss restless feet or a certain friend who loves spinning ghost stories around forests, there’s enough to do. Walk uphill and you’ll discover quaint waterfalls and walk down and you’ll hit a village or forgotten, old temples. Either way, time will fly when you guys start making random talk through the way.

    Run, Forest, Run

It helps that there’s a lot to do if the typical city dweller in you starts to miss civilisation. Manali is just 3km away and Old Manali with its hippie cafes and kitschy markets is at 5km.

If you have that lone, lazy traveller {every group almost always has one}, they’ll probably love being left with a book in the cottage’s sunny sit-out that overlooks the valley. In fact, we suggest you make that your fixed breakfast spot because morning chai is best had feeling that mountain breeze on your face. Tell us if we’re wrong.

    So, We're Saying...

It’s time to finally make that all friends trip see the light of day. Truth be told, the house is even greener and prettier than it looks in the photos and the hosts are super helpful.

    Book here.
