What Is It?

A Delhi-based production house and staging company, Advait Productions, is bringing What’s Done Is Done, an interesting spin on Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

The play is director Rajat Kapoor’s take on the literary classic where the protagonist’s life and story is set in today’s day and age.

Who Is It For?

If you’ve read Macbeth and are a bearded lover of the Bard {or a theatre enthusiast in general}, you gotta see this version of the play.  The take promises to be part heroic and part comic, reimagining the classic tale of greed, ambition and lust in the modern context.

So, you’ll get into the workings of Macky B’s mind as he meets the three weird sisters and his life changes forever. This means that the essence and central premise of Shakespeare’s legendary work will stay, but it’ll be more relevant and relatable for the twenty first century audience that lives in Gurgaon condominiums and orders groceries online.

Why Should I Go For It?

It features our favourite theatre artists – Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Jim Sarbh and Tillotama Shome – as clowns. Rajat Kapoor’s directorial vision is another compelling reason if you refuse to be wowed by the start cast.

The play has just returned from a super successful run in the US and is trying to reach out to Delhi peeps with the protagonist struggling with real, familiar concerns. And, we totally suggest that you ditch the movie plan on the weekend and try a play instead; so much more intimate and so much more fun.
