What Is It?

Up for an offbeat monsoon adventure? Go for waterfall rappelling with the gang at Bekare, a lesser-known waterfall situated amidst the Matheran range, at Bhivpuri in Karjat, just about two and a half hours from Pune.

How Do I Get There?

If you’re driving, take the Mumbai-Pune highway and head towards Karjat, that takes about approximately two hours from Pune {sans the traffic}. Reach the base village of Bekare at Bhivpuri. Get some breakfast. There’s a 20-minute trek from the base village to reach the top of the waterfall. Rappel down the entire length of the waterfall, that is approximately 70-75 feet. Have a great time at the foot of the waterfall. You can also grab a bite at this place, however, make sure you don’t litter!

What Is So Awsome About It?

Rappelling or abseiling, a technique used to descend down a slope using ropes, harness and a descender, is in itself a thrilling activity. Now imagine, you’re doing the same thing with a full-force waterfall on both your sides! This is Bekare rappelling for you.

Post your rappelling session, you can take a dip in the cool crystal-blue waters. Spend some quality time surrounded by serene lush green hill foliage, the constant splash of the waterfall and the pleasant monsoon chill in the air. Who wants to ever come back from this place?

So, We're Saying...

Got a thing for adventure? Then, test your mettle here.
