The 4 Games You Need To Play Before Summer Arrives

The information in this post might be outdated

Even though 2016 sucked in terms of general state of the world, it was a surprisingly good year for games {and movies, and music…we digress}. This year, too, is expected to see some huge releases in the gaming arena, and since it’s difficult to know which ones to actually spend your money on, we’re here to help.

Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect can easily be said to be one of the most successful as well as critically-acclaimed video game series in history, and we’re finally getting a sequel. Mass Effect Andromeda promises exciting worlds to explore, new characters and a renewed search for saving humanity in the big bad neighbourhood that is our universe. Just get this one guys.

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Release Date: Mar 21

For Honor

For Honor is probably one of Ubisoft’s most ambitious projects in recent times, and they haven’t left any stone unturned spreading the word. If you haven’t heard of this upcoming hack and slasher, we’d highly recommend checking it out and adding it to your pre-order list.

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Release Date: Feb 14

Resident Evil

Capcom’s scary Resident Evil is back with a  new edition in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and how. The monsters you’d be trying to tensely escape every second in the game are uneasily terrifying, and the game employs the traditional Resident Evil mechanics of exploration and puzzle solving to give you a truly pants-soiling, survival horror experience. Needless to say {and the trailer below further insists that}, this one is strictly not for the weak-hearted.

There’s also a VR version of the game that we’d rather say “no thanks” to, though it’s still some time before we have that in India.

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Release Date: Jan 24

Horizon Zero Dawn

The first thing you’ll notice about this sprawling venture is just how beautiful it looks. Horizon Zero Dawn’s aesthetic is hard to pin down, with robotic dinosaurs, lush green environments to explore in a huge post apocalyptic universe, and an immersive experience games these days just don’t bother with.

While I’m slightly bummed that it’s a PS4 exclusive and I play on PC, the PS4 owners out there should definitely get this one.

Platform: PS4

Release Date: Jan 28

Where: Apart from the respective game stores on PC, PS4 and Xbox and your local stores, check out G2A.com {bonus points; they accept PayTM} and GameSX.com for cheaper deals on buying and renting games. Amazon also runs gaming offers from time to time, so don’t forget to check that out, too.
