We’re saying bye to our 99 bottles of beer just for a few weeks and letting in some delish cocktails, each aimed to make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Sip on Warmth: LBB's Winner Winter Cocktail List
Hot Shoddy
Social’s take on the traditional Keralan Toddy, the Hot Shoddy is a cold-curing concoction comprising brandy, honey, fresh cinnamon and cloves garnished with a slice each of an apple and an orange. PS: It’s not shoddy at all.
Apple Cinnamon Cider
Served in a glass teapot, the Apple Cider at Molecule hits the spot, especially when you walk in on a cold winter night. Expect the combination of sweet and sour notes muddled into a warm glass. They also have a cranberry version, which isn’t on their menu, but you can always ask.
Better Than Bailey’s Hot Chocolate
There’s not many things as comforting as a hot chocolate in the cold winter months. And Smoke House Deli is taking our favourite beverage one level up by spiking it with Drambuie, roasted marshmallow and a rum and raisin brownie – raisin’ your spirits the right way. They’re also doing a Hot Toddy for those who don’t want to go the milky way.
Mulled Wine at Cafe Diva
Red wine, heated and spiced to perfection, and served with a pretty slice of orange, the mulled wine at Café Diva goes super well with all the cheese-laden fare they have to offer.
The Royal Indian Punch
This one’s an oldie {but a goldie, of course} and has its roots set in 17th century British India. Ek Bar serves it in a teacup. The cocktail comprises fermented kahwatea, whisky, spices and star anise. It isn’t served hot but the spices keep you going.
Santa Singh
Another play on the hot chocolate, Santa Singh is a blend of molten dark chocolate infused with vanilla-flavoured vodka and dusted with cinnamon. And with a generous swirl of whipped cream on top. We’re drooling.
Mao Ninja
If you like to drink your dessert, the Mao Ninja may be your spirit drink {pun intended}. A melange of apple flavoured vodka, spiced apple juice and cream, Guppy’s keeping us happy with this sweet treat. They recommend pairing it with their Green Tea Cake and the Chocolate Fondant.
Apple Cigar
Like the name suggests, this one’s a smokey affair. One of Lutyens’ signatures, the drink involves smoked whisky, clove bitter, apple juice and smoked candy.
