Pen and Parchment is a website, started by four ex-Delhi University students, that delivers second-hand books in good condition to your doorstep.

Paradise Found

In present times, when bookstores are closing down and reading practices are dwindling, it was heartening to see this website, where they’re trying to make books accessible by offering them second-hand, and in good condition. After all, there’s a different charm to reading books with yellowing paper, with little notes written here and there!

While you’ll spot regulars like Sidney Sheldon, John Grisham, and a lot of books from the English Literature syllabus of DU {not surprising, that one}, we were happy to spot a couple of Anita Desai’s, Margaret Atwood’s, Graham Greene’s and Jhumpa Lahiri’s as well. If classics interest you, they have books by Jane Austen, DH Lawrence, Charles Dickens and George Eliot too! However, their non-fiction collection is rather limited. The founders tell us that they plan on expanding, and adding more Indian works is definitely on the cards!

Judge the Book by Its Cover

If you have a fetish for finding the perfect cover for your copy of the book, you should definitely check this site out to choose the book with the cover you prefer. There are a few cover options to choose from, particularly for Harry Potter and novels of Jane Austen.

Priced Right
