Delhiites Will Now Have To Pay A Tax To Drive On Outer Ring Road, Hauz Khas & These Other Areas

The information in this post might be outdated

In an attempt to check the rising levels of pollution and traffic in the city, the government has decided to charge vehicles owners a congestion tax for using roads where traffic is especially heavy around the city. Some of the areas that would fall under this category include Pusa Road, ITO intersection, Mathura Road, the corridor between Aurobindo Chowk and Andheri More, parts of MG Road, areas around Hauz Khas on the Outer Ring Road, the Nehru Place flyover to Modi Mills flyover. The rate of the tax and mode of payment are still to be decided as well as the date of implementation. We’ll keep you updated regarding the details about when the tax will start. This initiative will hopefully reduce the number of private vehicles on the roads, and push people toward using more public transportation instead.
