Shuttling to and from work is an uphill battle due to manic Monday morning chaos, the tempting ‘snooze’ button, last-minute emails and cabbies that only follow your location as a last resort. However, to make your commute (or at least the last stretch of your commute) a wee bit easier, Clean Motion India created Zbee – an energy efficient, three-wheeler that is perfect for short distances.
Created in Sweden, they made their way to Gurgaon in March, and ply in and around DLF Cyber City, DLF Phase – II and Phase -III. In the first leg of operations, you could only book a Zbee between 12pm and 9pm.
Now, you can also request a pick up in the morning, straight from your doorstep, and have the Zbee drop you to your office in Cyber City. Currently, they’re only taking bookings for office-goers who live close to Cyber City but they plan to expand soon!
This means an end to incessant haggling with auto drivers, for starters, but the Zbee has other advantages as well. It doesn’t add to pollution levels – noise or otherwise. It doesn’t guzzle petrol, because it’s driven by electricity. It’s tiny, so it won’t cause jams. And it may well be the way all of Gurgaon travels someday!
