Saraya an otherwise popular vegan café is also the place to head to, every last Sunday of the month. This is when locals who grow their own veggies, or make stuff come to sell their wares. It is a great place to shop for organic and healthy food, or just to eat some of their awesome vegan food.

From organic groceries to veggies, natural teas, herbal health supplements, nutritious snacks, desserts, seeds and saplings they have it all. They even have the Good Karma Garage Sale, where one can pick up beautiful clothes, shoes, accessories and more for as less as INR 50 to the maximum being INR 200.

These are donated by people and are always in great condition and also goes a long way in helping the planet by reusing and recycling these quality products. All the money from the proceeds is donated to various NGOs working in Goa. The Welfare for Animals in Goa or WAG also sells their range of products from Non Toxic household cleaning products, to Mosquito repellent Dhoop made in-house with cow dung. One can even buy biodegradable sanitary napkins that are made of cloth by a local self help women’s group.

A packet of 8 just costs INR 40, so go ahead and try some. You can do your bit for reforestation, by picking up the free seed bombs and on your drive back from Goa, just throw them in to barren patches of land or forest and see nature reclaim what it has lost. Of course, there are lot more products added every market, so if you are looking for healthy, natural, organic, homemade, recycled or anything that supports sustainable living, then this is the market to visit.
