What Makes It Awesome

Charlotte and Simon, a brother-sister duo who’ve been staying in India for all their life, took a 100-year-old south Goa bungalow and turned it into a lovely boutique hotel that now goes by the name Vivenda Dos Palhacos. This beautiful property has got it all – from a swimming pool, a dining room for twenty, large rooms leading to verandahs and a lot of sunlight. Vivenda (let’s just call it that for the sake of simplicity) is housed in a little village in South Goa, right by Majorda beach. If you’re travelling by flight, the resort is only 30 minutes from the airport, and 20 minutes from the train station in Margao.

The rooms are all named after cities and areas they’re fond of such as Alipore, Madras, Ballygunge, Ooty, Madras, and Darjeeling. Each room has something unique about it – while one may have a window love seat looking over a coconut plantation, the other may have an open-air washroom.  Another may boast of a private entrance to the courtyard. Prices start at INR 4,782 during the monsoon season and between INR 8,000 upwards and INR 9,000 upwards during the high season and festive season.

Pro-Tip

They have their own customised, in-house tuk-tuk that guests can borrow (that, or a bicycle) for INR 150 for a trip!
