What Makes It Awesome

The Funky Monkey Hostel is housed in a sprawling bungalow with a big garden outside, suited to backpackers, solo travellers and fuss-free nomads. The balconies come with plenty of options to sit and chill with a book, while the common area, full of bean bags and comfy seating, is perfect for movie nights organised by the hostel. Travellers from all over the world converge here, and in fact, the hostel is also run by a bunch of intrepid travellers. The garden outside is criss-crossed with colourful prayer flags and the vibe is easy going and oh-so hippie.

The hostel comes with free WIFI and free breakfast. Guests have access to their own lockers. There are two kinds of stay available — dorms and private rooms. While two of the dorms are unisex, one is exclusively for women. The dorms here cost as little as INR 499 (a six-bed mixed dorm) a night and a private twin room will set you back by INR 2,499 . The beds in the room though basic, come with fresh sheets, clean towels and a blanket. The showers in the toilets (these are shared) come with hot water at all times and there is plug point next to every bed.

If the hostel’s simple breakfast won’t do for you, then just a five-minute bike ride away is a bustling food and drink scene waiting for you as the proximity to Anjuna ensures you're never short of cool cafes and eateries. Close to party hubs like Anjuna Beach, Shiva Valley and Curlie's, you could even try out some of Anjuna's famous boho markets for cool paraphernelia and accessories. If you need more help, the hostel is free to organize beach tours and music jams for you. They also have many restaurants and cafes close by.

You can rent bikes and taxis from the reception to explore the neighbourhood.
