Shortcut

As you drive down the coconut shaded winding roads from Mapusa towards the Vagator and Anjuna stretch, lies the charming village of Assagaon. Nestled here is this beautifully restored and lovingly nurtured The D’Gamas Homestay. And the best part, it is pet friendly, so your next holiday to Goa need not be without your furry friend.

What Makes It Awesome?

Other than the fact that it is pet-friendly, there is so much more to this charming Indo Portuguese Homestay. This is a luxuriously furnished home with a beautiful garden with a hot tub in it. This tub is ideal for those evenings when you just want to sit and watch the myriad colours in the evening sky.

They offer all the comforts of a hotel with really affordable rates, at about INR 4,000 per night for a room on weekdays. Their rooms all come with modern amenities like air-conditioning, toiletries or bathroom slippers on request, complimentary kindles, WiFi and TV with Digibox.

There is of course a kitchen, daily housekeeping service and a low priced laundry service if required. And no need to carry your portable speaker, they will even provide you wit a nice JBL one. And if you feel like barbecuing, then there is Weber Grill at your disposal, and they will even assist you with setting it up.

They also run a pet kennel called Hound Abode, which is right next door. So even if you want to step out for a while, then you can hire a pet sitter, who will look after your pooch and even give a bath or freshly baked doggie treats. And they will even give pet blankets and beds on request.

Pro-Tip

They will even have rentals of bicycles, with all proceeds going to The Bicycle Project that gives free bicycles to tribal children. The owner Dean is an avid biker and leader of the Goan HOG {Harley Owners Group}, so if you are an experienced rider then you could rent a Harley there too.
