What Makes It Awesome

We would have gone here just for the food, but the fact that The Lazy Goose lies on the bank of the Nerul river is an added bonus. A lot of old-timers, will remember it from when it used to be Amigos and had lovely home cooked food. The Lazy Goose though, has stayed true to its origins and serves some delicious Goan seafood, but with Chef Rohan’s imaginative and innovative twist.

Enter the restaurant and you can’t help notice the old wooden fishing boat fixed on the beams of the ceiling. After taking a table overlooking the river, we started off with these delightful Prawns Al Ajilio that were delicious. Chef Rohan himself claimed that if he had to choose his favourite dish here, then it would be the crab, so the Butter Chilly Garlic Crabs is what we tried next. They came in the open crab shells, with the flavoured crab meat all ready to be scooped out. The food here has kept his ethos of mixing local cuisine with international styles and flavours.

They even have meat preparations, of which the Vietnamese Pork Spring Rolls were to die for. There are plenty of vegetarian options too, with some innovative flat bread pizzas, risotto, Thai curry, salads and more.

Pro-Tip

It can get a little warm in the day time if the cool river breeze dies, but we think it is a perfect spot for a lazy lunch. You could even start your sundowner here that continues into dinner. They also have live music on select days of the week.
