The Haryana Government is looking to expand the existing metro route in Gurgaon, to make travel within Gurgaon and to Dwarka easier for citizens.

What's Happening?

One route is about 12km while the other is around 27.5km long. Despite having eleven metro stations, large parts of Gurgaon have poor public transport, which inadvertently forces citizens to use  autorickshaws and cabs which usually do not run by meter. There have been numerous issues regarding safety and feasibility when it comes to commuting within Gurgaon.

The new routes are aimed at providing better metro connectivity within Gurgaon and between Gurgaon and Dwarka. The 12km route will begin from the existing Metro station at Huda City Centre and go up to the Gurgaon Railway Station through Subhash Chowk, Rajiv Chowk and New Colony More. The second extension is 27.5 km, which also starts at Huda City Centre and then heads to the Dwarka Sector 21 Metro station on DMRC’s Blue Line via Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Sectors 10A, 10, 9, 9A, ESI Hospital, Sector 4-5 crossing {covering Gurgaon Railway Station and adjoining areas}, Palam Vihar, Sector 23, and Dwarka Sector 21.

So, We're Saying...

Hopefully the additional two routes will make commuting easier for metro rides.
