Residents of Sector 54 Gurgaon have collectively bought a community fridge and you can stock it up with leftovers from your home or last night’s meal. The idea? To feed anyone whose hungry, so that no one goes to sleep on an empty tummy.

Fridging The Gap

Since food wastage became a major concern, community fridges have become a worldwide practice. A few residents of Gurgaon have installed one such fridge – open 24 hours, 7 days a week and accessible to everyone. The aim is for people to donate basic and necessary foods or meals for those in need.

Those who wish to donate are requested to put neatly packaged meals, with an expiry date and specifications as to whether it is vegetarian or non-vegetarian. People who live in neighbouring areas can contribute any excess food that they have, or anything they may especially want to give.

So We're Saying...

This is a small and fairly easy step towards creating a more generous community and tackling the basic issues that we face as a country on a grassroots level. So if you feel like you got too much on your plate, you can just share.

If you’d like to contribute, the fridge is located at the main gate of Suncity, near the security guard’s cabin, in Sector 54.
