The Spotlight Is On Comedy At The People & Co.

Canvas Laugh Club brings one of the happiest stand-up comedy venues, The People & Co., to Gurgaon, and it’s a complete riot.

That’s what the good guys at People & Co. promise, and we’re happy to report that they deliver. We stopped by on a Tuesday night looking to ease our mid-week blues, and we were told that three comedians would soon be taking the stage. They actually have a packed schedule, as they try and bring together the best acts from all over the country.

Before you settle in, remember to check for the deal of the day. Tuesdays, for instance, mean unlimited Ballantine’s for the entire duration of the show {approximately an hour-and-a-half}, all for the measly add-on of INR 500.

In the meantime, grab a drink at their bar. This entertainment venue has a great vibe, the staff is always smiling and they encourage sipping on a large drink when you need a break from LOLing all over the place; what’s not to love?

They have a mini auditorium, Canvas, with cushy chairs and its own bar. The comics on call when we hit them up were Aditya Desai from Mumbai, Anirban Dasgupta from Kolkata and Jaspreet Singh from saddi Dilli. Good-natured jibes, jokes about traffic {the venue is in Gurgaon, after all} and acts that were inspired by the quirks of the comedians’ hometowns; the show was over before we wanted it to be.

If you haven’t been yet, we suggest stopping by for a super fun evening. Come out in support of stand-up comedy, and there’s enough popcorn to go around. We definitely found ourselves smiling long after the last joke was told.
