Shortcut

New bakery on the block, Juste Miam, is tucked away in one corner of Supermart I and doles out super fresh goodies for an anytime pick-me-up.

The Sweet Stop

The forte of this French-style-inspired patisserie is their dazzling array of pies, pastries, cakes and tarts. We decided to sample some classic fare, as well as a few newer choices. The Tiramisu Jar was the right mix of creamy and mushy, with cleaver notes of coffee and cheese. We also quite enjoyed the Millefeuille – a bit of a sugar rush but  it’s lovingly layered with custard and cream.

The surprise hit, though, was the Fig Dry Cake. It was moist, fruity and a total match made in heaven when paired with a cuppa of Darjeeling, or even an espresso shot.

Our Daily Bread

Juste Miam does breads well and expansively. We spotted a Garlic Sundried tomato loaf that seemed perfect for tea-time open sandwiches. We also greedily eyed the Garlic Kasundi {that would make for zingy homestyle toasties, or with eggs}.

For lazy peeps, like me, savouries on the menu include gorgeously grilled sandwiches and stuffed-with-goodness puffs. Our super pick from this lot was the Minced mutton Kolach, which was like a keema matar style stuffed bun – hot, chunky and very divine!

Chug Chug!

Juste Miam is one of those rare bakeries that also affords agreeable outdoor and indoor seating, so you could choose to give the average coffee shop a miss and catch up over cake and very hearty milkshakes {or strong masala tea, if you please} here.

#LBBTip

Call in to ensure that your favourite slice of pie is available; the good stuff often runs out (and then gets restocked during another delivery). Pre-order option is available for a range of classic cakes, in 0.5, 1 and 2 kg options.
