Le Meridien Gurgaon features high on our staycation list. We’re talking about a vacation within the city- a holiday where you don’t have to fly, where everything room service is possible, and the spa and pool make up most of your day.

Which One?

This time we chose Le Meridien Gurgaon, nestled in the ghats, bang in the heart of good ‘ol Gurugram with a picturesque view of rocklands and the Delhi Metro snaking past the skyline en route to Delhi.

An iconic brand that now calls Gurugram home too, and is fully equipped to be more than home away from home for you because at home you don’t always have white gloved servers bringing you cappuccinos with homemade cookies, and if the cookies sit too long, they bring you fresh ones because you know, they wouldn’t want you to have soggy ones!

Room Away from Home

Choose a weekend staycation and choose to check into any floor above the 10th, not just for the view but for the Executive Lounge, a place where you can squeeze in a bit of work if you simply must, or for the kids to go gaming while you chill.

They also have an exclusive menu that’s on the house for the rooms on executive floors but going back to the view, these are the rooms that truly make you feel like you’ve left the city for somewhere better.

Rest And Relaxation

Pick a room or a suite, the view is going to be great either way and so are the services and amenities. The suite boasts of a mini living room, an added toilet, a bar nook and a set of weights so you can have a quick workout in the room. The Nespresso machine is a nice touch and they don’t scrimp on the capsules!

The mini bar is pretty well stocked too but with a specialty Italian restaurant {new}, an all-day dining, a bar and room service, you probably won’t need to tuck into that tuck. The bed is super comfy and two large screen LCD/HD TV’s never hurt anyone, it’s best you make this staycation about lying in bed with a host of shows to catch up on, a book or two and room service which takes just about 20 minutes no matter what you order.

To up the ante on the relaxation bit, book a spa session. The Balinese massage, 60 minutes, is number one on our list though a lot of guests choose the body wraps followed by a salon session. The ideal schedule should be 30 minutes in a very well stocked fitness centre, complete with instructors and a view, 60 minutes in the pool, another 60 by it followed by 90 minutes at Senses spa—and that’s just half the day.

Eat & Drink

The F&B options at the property just got spiffy with the all-new Bella Cucina, Le Meridien’s executive sous chef Amit Kumar’s take on modern Italian, as much pleasure for the eyes as for the palate. Or you could play it cool at the Longitude Bar, coffee house by day and cocktail bar by night. Ask for the infusions and you won’t be disappointed.

Keep your main meals at Latest Recipe, where the buffet is a melange of Japanese, Mediterranean, regional Indian and lots more. It’s also where you’ll have your breakfast and that could be an entire detox spread or supremely indulgent, at a staycation, it’s always, all up to you.
