Remember Urvashi Yadav’s story? You probably do, reports of her chhole-kulche stand in Sector 14, Gurgaon quickly gained traction on social media and we were happy to report that all those likes converted into real sales for this Gurgaon-based mom. Urvashi was shaken by her husband’s sudden hip surgery, so she set out to protect her children’s future by taking the streets and selling plates of delicious, spicy chhole with soft kulcha to the office crowd. During our last conversation with Urvashi, she let us in on her plans for the future. A restaurant, she said. She’d open her own restaurant, someday.
Less than a year later, Urvashi Yadav is on track to make her food dream a reality – her brand new restaurant, Urvashi’s Food Joint, is now open in Sukhrali {opposite Blue Dart} in Gurgaon! There’s lots more on the menu, although her chhole-kulche will always have a special place in her patrons’ hearts. Don’t expect anything too fancy, the food here is wholesome, hearty and reminiscent of ghar ka khaana – the way we like it.
