With 70 branded stores, GVK One mall in Banjara Hills is every Hyderabadis go to for shopping since its launch in 2009. A popular hangout amongst students, this place is also frequented by fashionistas and families for all their needs from make-up to fancy wear. We took it upon ourselves to figure out what can we buy here in a budget of INR 5,000 and here are our finds.

Shoppers Stop
Spread across three levels in the mall is Shoppers Stop that has everything from casual and fancy wear to footwear and accessories. We made our first stop here and picked up this casual one piece. It instantly caught our attention as we made way to the store. It’s a cotton dress and the colour is perfect for Summer too. Besides, stripes are trending right now, so we knew we had to get our hands on this one. Maybe you should too!

Poparazzi
Next, we walked into this funky store called Poparazzi to get a dash of quirk into our wardrobe. There are many options here that might appeal to stationery hoarders and travellers like notebooks with colourful designs and souveneirs too, but we strictly wanted something that we could wear, so we got ourselves this vibrant neck piece made from beads and we love how hipster it makes us look. Did we mention that it’s super affordable too? Yaas!

Global Desi
Global Desi is one of the four distinct brands operated by House Of Anita Dongre, and we have already expressed our love for this brand. So is it any surprise that we definitely got something from here? Ladies, you are gonna love what we found — these knick knacks as they are called! We cannot stop gushing over how pretty they are. They come in bright palettes and earthly colours too. We particularly loved this traditional yet chic piece that comes in shades of orange and blue. It makes for an attractive carry on to work, and it can fit your essentials.

Soch
As we peeked into Soch, a store that mainly has fancy Indian wear — we saw a sign that read Kurtis at INR 498. From the plethora of options that we scrolled through, we really liked this blue kurti with white borders. It is simple yet stylish. College goers, we think you definitely need one of these for when the vacation is over. Hurry up, cause the deal only lasts until Summer ends.

Scube
On the second floor of the mall is a kiosk selling scarves and stoles. They have all kinds of prints including geometric, floral, lettered, and ethnic among others. They also have deals where you can buy two scarves and get one free. Saves you from getting tanned, and can be paired up with a plain kurti too, we cannot wait to rock the leapord print stole we bought!

Breya
Right beside Scube, is a store by this brand called Breya that has contemporary indo-western outfits. We had to debate over what to get from here because there were more than two dresses that we found ourselves drawn to. We did make up our mind eventually and got this super cool open jacket/cardigan. The right mix of elegant and comfortable, the prints are a cute add on to why this one made it to the list.

Wildcraft
We don’t think anybody is unaware of this Indian outdoor and adventure products company, and we were thrilled to know that GVK One houses one of their stores. So naturally, we made our way here and after carefully scanning the backpacks on display, we got this pink and purple bag. It is spacious and you can use it for a backpacking trip over the weekend, or even for an everyday use. Although they have backpacks ranging from anywhere between INR 1,000 to INR 2,000, and rug-sacks {starting at INR 3,500} for the wanderer in you, we got our pick for a reasonable price. Besides, the brand provides a warranty of 5 years and is apparently durable.

Colorbar
No shopping spree is really complete without a finishing touch of some make-up. Ditching Mac and its pricey make-up, we picked up another of Colorbar’s nail paints. This flash dry nail lacquer is of the colour Bloo Ur Day. As the name suggests, it dries quick and is long-lasting too. You can also find eye-liners, lip glosses, brow pencils and other makeup products at affordable prices.

After that haul, we were still left with INR 35 which we used to get a glass of lemonade right outside the mall! Great way to end the day, isn’t it?
