What Makes It Awesome

Sri Narsingh Cloth Emporium, located in Ameerpet, is half a century old store that houses hundreds of varieties of fabrics that start at INR 60 per metre. Narsingh has multiple branches all across the city but we heart its first branch in Ameerpet. Years after the first store, it spread its wings in the neighbourhood of Ameerpet and other locations. We walked into the crowded store to check out their collection and found more than just fabrics – right from sarees to readymade blouses, bedsheets and towels to zari borders, it has everything. What we really love about the store is its matching section. Want to get a dress customized with colours and fabrics of your choice? Then take your pick. Saunter into its saree section and find Kalamkari sarees in multiple patterns and colours that start at INR 650 and Benaras Silk sarees that are priced INR 1,100 upwards. With no hassle, you can pick a saree and a readymade blouse (they look designer, we swear) at INR 500 upwards.

This store has fabrics like pure cotton, raw silk, pure georgette, brocade, pure crepe, Benarasi silk, and a lot more. We found dainty printed materials fabrics – ikat and Kalamkari have their own dedicated sections. While ikat is priced INR 130 upwards per metre, Kalamkari’s starting price is INR 110. The Benarasi Silk section also has fabrics that are priced INR 350 upwards and we think these are perfect for your social events. As a matter of fact, we’ve done the math – if you’re interested in getting an anarkali stitched, it should cost you between INR 2,500-4,500 depending on your choice of design and work. If you’re looking for indo-fusion prints, we recommend the pure cotton section where floral prints and tassels are trending, and they would make for perfect summer outfits. If you’ve got an epic tailor, you can get delightful skater dresses stitched under INR 500-600. Now, isn’t that a deal worth rushing to the store for?

What Could Be Better

The service at the store is really bad.

Pro-Tip

Do note this store also has men’s suiting and shirting while the other branches also sell readymade clothing, lehengas, anarkalis etc.
