What Makes It Awesome

What if we tell you, you can make a positive impact on climate change by switching your shoes. Yup! Say hello to Taran Chhabra and Amar Preet's brainchild, Neeman's that makes stylish shoes by eliminating the use of synthetic fibre and petroleum-based materials that are non-biodegradable, including Merino wool, from Australia.

Breathable and ideal in even the harshest of Indian weather conditions, your choices are not limited. They've got stylish sneakers, joggers, slides, flip flops and loafers in all the classic colours like black, blue, burgundy and brown. Rock them from a park to the office with your favourite pair of jeans, chinos, shorts...anything. While I am a fan of wearing socks with all kinds of closed shoes (come on, it's needed!), these wool joggers don't really need socks. Plus, they're odour-free. Don't panic about the heat, Merino wool works to keep you cool in summer, and warm in winter, so this one's a double winner.

I bought a pair almost two years ago, and apart from finding the joggers super comfortable, we also love the colours they come in. Coral red, cobalt blue, ivory, grey, black, sandy brown and more, are options to choose from. While I am a size 3, and it is a bit difficult to get shoes in that size from a few homegrown and more indie brands, Neeman's did have it easily available. They are also very responsive on email, so if you have any queries, feel free to contact them.

The other amazing offering from them is their ReLive Knits that are made with 100% recycled plastic bottles. Apparently, these solid and sustainable shoes are made from 8 PET bottles, and having picked up the sneakers, I could never say that they're made from plastic. Soft, comfortable and durable, they are also really light weight.

Price: INR 699 upwards

Pro Tip

These shoes are also machine-washable and weather-proof. They also have a seven-day trial period where you can go about town with your new shoes for seven days and return it if you don't end up loving them. I have my money on you keeping the shoes!
