Hyderabad, this just in! The National Thermal Power Corporation {NTPC} which has been maintaining and developing the historic monument of Hyderabad — Charminar — has adopted it under the Centre’s Swachh Iconic Places Projects of India. Picked as one among 100 such iconic sites, we’ll see Charminar’s glory restored with an elaborate lighting for its four arches. This 427-year-old monument is currently undergoing conservation and repair work by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), particularly on its pillars. If you have visited Charminar recently, you might have noticed the construction work already. But this does not mean the beautification of Charminar alone. We are going to witness an addition of amenities like garbage bins, public toilets, drinking water ATM kiosks, and a lot more. Now we can finally bid a goodbye to finding a good washroom woes!
