Isolated & Exhausted? A Guide To Get You Through Ramzan Under Lockdown

Probably for the first time ever, Charminar in Hyderabad or Jama Masjid in Old Delhi is empty during Ramzan. And the deserted sight is making us realise that 2020 is the year that we never want again. No social gatherings, no Jagne Ki Raat, the lockdown and the coronavirus crisis certainly have made things tougher during the month of fasting. But we can’t leave you in that state and hence, a guide for you to get you through Ramzan during this downtime.

Start With Small Goals

Don’t compare yourself. Think about what your personal goals are and set your to-do list. Don not over do things because that will only make you feel exhausted and weak. So, start with small goals and build up slowly.

Clean & Curate Social Media

Just unfollow people and accounts that don’t make you feel happy or motivated. Or just mute them, if you don’t want to unfollow them. Follow them that can help you get through this time. It can be a meme page or something related to recipes. Don’t let social media handles compromise your happiness in any way. Not just during Ramzan but in general.

Have A Filling Suhur

Fasting from dawn-to-dusk could leave you exhausted. So, eating something filling that will get you through the day to iftar. Opt for something hearty and wholesome that will leave you full of energy. Okay?

Set Your Living Space

It’s important to have a clean and pleasant looking space to make the month feel extra special. So, go ahead and organise the place with decorations. Add some fairy lights or candles, whatever makes you feel happy and positive.

Take Naps

Just sleep whenever hunger seems to get to you. A nap will make you feel refreshed and will give you more energy. And who doesn’t love sleeping?

Stay Connected Via Online Iftars

Fasting in quarantine can be depressing, and particularly if it isn’t shared with your family and friends. So, gather your loved ones in a chat via the decided app, pick a theme for iftar and enjoy the feast as you interact. You can also get everyone to watch some series together or make them join a Netflix party.
