Glocal Junction is known for their local food with an international twist. And the best thing is they keep reinventing their food and bring in new menus from time to time.This time when world cup fever is on a high ,they brought in their special world cup menu and whats more they have dishes from various cricket playing countries .
AMBIENCE (4/5) : The Ambience is absolutely lit. It has all the elements thats you expect and more from a pub . They have a spacious dance floor which is the best thing. Most pubs do not have a dance floor and people end up dancing in between the seating spaces which is so very uncomfortable. Their music is also great and with good choice of songs and high bass music,the place is perfect for a friday night chill .The place is well lit with quirky lightings and has a huge bar counter right in the centre which fascinated me more so.
FOOD & BEVERAGES ( 4/5) : I must say they have a huge line up of dishes in their menu. A general menu ,a bar menu and then the special world cup menu. From burgers,to arencini,to shawarma,to pastas and pizzas ,to butter chicken ,you name it,they have it. Donot expect simple dishes out there as all their dishes (mostly) are fusion based where they give an international twist to the local food ( justifying the name of the place well ,global + local)
We tried Lamb chops and galauti kabab from their special cricket menu and smoked butter chicken ,mocktails,cocktail and dessert from their normal menu.
Lamb Chops : The lamb chops were served with mushroom sauce and grilled veggies and grilled potatoes on the side. The lamb chops were tender and nicely cooked and tasted scrumptious with the mushroom sauce. The only down side i felt was the pricing. The dish which is sufficient for two is priced at 1570 INR which is a hefty amount for just one dish.
Galauti kabab : The galauti kababs were served with small parathas . The kababs were great but were high on garam masala and chilli which made it difficult to gulp down but it had nice taste. With little tweak in the spice side,this dish will be perfect.
Smoked butter chicken : butter chicken was served with boneless small chicken peices . It was served with chur chur paratha and additionally we opted for some butter naan too. The butter chicken had nice flavors but smoky flavour as the name suggested was missing.
Drinks :
In drinks we tried peach basil melody mojito, pomegranate,lemon ,ginger mocktail,kokam cooler mocktail and skull cocktail.
Peach basil melody and kokam cooler were my favorite. Very different mocktail the kokam cooler had a tangy sweet taste and was a fresh desi twist to the drink. Pomegranate,lemon,ginger was also a bit tangy due to the lemon juice but the taste gets better with each sip.Peach basil melody was total love.the skull cocktail had a unique presentation and was served in a toy truck and a skull shaped vessel.
Desssert :
I wanted to try their pan cheese cake but it was sadly not available. Infact most of the desserts ( even from the world cup menu) were not available which was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless,we ordered for waffle with icecream. Chocolate waffle were served with chocolate icecream and vanilla icecream on the side. The waffle were served warm and tasted great with the icecream though the waffle could be a little softer.
SERVICE ( 2/5) : The service was very very slow. For each order we had to wait for 30-40 mins. It took us 2.5 hrs to finish off only because of their slow service .Also the waiters were not easily approachable and we had to look a
around for 10-15 mins just to call them. Also most desserts were not available which was a downside specially when they dont have their specialty dessert (paan cheesecake).Service could be improved on.
Overall there are great options of dishes and a nice ambience.If you are person who likes to party,and wanna dance off some of your tensions,then come to this place and chillax. And of course you can watch some cricket and have their amazing dishes.
