Art by Aarohi is a brand purely fabricated on the founder and designer, Aarohi Singh’s own art work. It is a powerful one-woman team, where Aarohi works every single day to make the funkiest and most artistic things that one can put to daily use. Her jewellery collection deserves a special mention, as Aarohi has successfully put her creativity to use, by creating unique accessories like earrings and pendants out of wooden carvings and left-over textile fabrics (katran).
The Katran pieces are carefully handcrafted and some of them also contain old polyphil filling to give the piece dimension, especially the neckpieces (INR 1,800 onwards ). The earrings are mostly made of wood, along with beads and tassels. These have one of the most unique paintings on them that are hand-painted by Aarohi herself. All of them display a parade of bright colours that easily go with any outfit, ethnic or western. Be it any piece of accessory, every bit of artwork on them is handmade by the lady herself, who produces all her stock all alone, without any help.
Apart from the jewellery section, you will also find a fascinating collection of denim bags (INR 3,500) with patchwork. Here, she uses old, used denims to give them a fresh twist and prevent from wastage. The lining in the bags are made, using old curtains. So, you know how much you’re helping the environment by buying completely recycled merchandise. Aarohi’s “The Poonch Collection” has designs dedicated to animals and every penny you spend on this collection, goes to animal welfare.
She has done few pieces of clothing for her family and friends before, and wishes to launch a whole line of clothing for commercial retail, soon. So watch out for it!
