It's the Haute kitchen couture aesthetic that had us falling in love - super minimalist yet standout in its glazes (think rich shades of burgundy, cobalt, apricot, teal and speckled snow). To add to this, everything on their line is handmade, painted and glazed. The pasta bowls (also be used for curries or ramen) and plates (can be used for salads and main courses) available in varying sizes are our favourites. Keep in mind though that everything here is produced in small batches, sells out very quickly and takes time to come back in stock. So, act fast! Aura Pottery's range of handmade ceramics is a play on textures and imperfection or wabi-sabi. To tie into their overall rustic theme, the colour schemes are kept earthy and muted. We'd recommend going straight for the assorted bowls and platters featuring embossed patterns of leaves, macrame, grooves and cutouts - they are one-of-a-kind statement pieces. The mugs, candle holders, sushi platters and ramen bowls are most prized here, the only catch being every collection is a limited edition and sells out like hotcakes. Inspired by slow living and craft, Slow Pottery hosts immersive and interactive pottery workshops. What's cooler is that they launch collections based on creations by their students and interns. So with each pop up, you get to buy something unique each time. Their online store is continually updating new collections - we're talking boob mugs and jugs from the Boob Collection or the cool Coffee Serveware Collection that has ceramic pour-overs and coffee mugs, Plates Singles Collection and Bowls and Tumblers Collection. Some of the student-made pieces may have tiny cracks but every piece is still functional.

The hand-drawn ceramic at Ta.Da is stylish and quirky, perfect for the plate and Instagram star meals. Divided into themed collections, you can shop for dinner and quarter plates, pasta bowls and a limited collection of storage containers featuring cutesy designs like floral blooms (The Marigold Field), abstract line drawings (An Incan Moon) and cool onion-shaped patterns (Purple Lord Of Rings). Andretta Pottery is touted to be India’s oldest pottery studio and some of the potters we’ve mentioned on this list have graduated from there. The pottery studio has a rich collection of tableware, serveware, and home decor pieces that you can buy online via their Instagram page. Drop them a DM to get their catalogue (and their shop page), which features everything from quarter plates to ramen bowls and soup bowls to mugs and jugs. We have two of their ramen bowls and they are absolute beauties. We love the glazes that these ceramicware are available in. Think forest green, icy blue, red, toasty turquoise, and black. If you love plates, you love the slip design plates that feature various designs. They also have decor elements such as the Sufi Dancers. They ship Pan-India.

You can pick up a whole range of plates that not only work as functional pieces but also make for great props for your food photography. We are fans of bowls, which probably explains why we have six odd bowls in different shapes and sizes. Oh, one of her signature pieces, the Mermaid Cups are something that you definitely must get your hands on.

Clayventures is an Ahmedabad-based pottery studio founded by Raji Devta and is known for its functional, aesthetic, and stylish ceramic collection in the form of vases, planters, tableware, and drinkware. These pieces have very contemporary designs that are very much inspired by nature, so you'll get pieces such as the cute Mussorie Clinker (a tumbler) dressed in earthy glazes. That's not all, their collection of planters will make you want to have all their pieces at home. Our favourite is a simple yet noticeable In Good Company desktop planter.
