Deshaj Store & Cafe

Cosy interiors, wooden salt and pepper shakers, a nice assortment of tea, coffee and snacks, free WiFi, plus a very calm and quiet atmosphere makes Deshaj a great place to work out of. And, if you have some quick shopping needs to take care of, well, there is a store stocked with clothing for both men and women, as well as home decor and gifting options.

AIMArt Illuminates Mankind, a social welfare organisation for Indian artisans, has actually developed this interesting store-cafe. Grab an espresso at INR 55, a cappuccino at INR 60, and a mocha or latte at INR 65. Or, recharge your batteries with a pot of specialty teas ranging from INR 100 to 150.

Canteen @ Byloom

Evenings and weekends are when customers are required to maintain a steady flow of orders to use the WiFi, but during slower hours, order a cup of tea and work away to your heart’s content.

That is, if you don’t get distracted with all the gorgeous shopping options spread through multiple floors! Beverage-wise, the Darjeeling tea here is refreshing. Also, priced at just INR 60, the coconut water with lime and honey is a great alternative and healthier option {INR 80}. Pair it up with cheese chilli toast, chhanar chop or fish and chips and you’ll have enough ammunition to wrap up on all your work in no time.

Cafe Drifters

This charming café near Vivekananda Park with jaunty window awnings in green and white stripes is a nice and quiet place to spend some hours in. Take a seat by the long window and work away, pausing to only browse the interesting ephemera stacked along the sill, including sketches and scribbles done by guests. The walls are blue-green – one is done up like a blackboard, another with interesting photos.

The best place is the lone chair in a corner of the main space near the cool wall with all the framed mirrors. #LBBTip

In case you are looking for more cafes that offer Wi-Fi, Mrs. Magpie, Abar Baithak and Blue Mug are additional places you can carry your laptop to, but these places tend to get very loud at regular intervals, so if you need a more peaceful work environment, the above options are your best bet.
