What Makes It Awesome

Need to head to New Market to buy daily essentials but scared? Well. Not anymore because the city has got its first automatic disinfectant tunnel installed in the area in the wake of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

This disinfectant sprinkler system has been installed at one of the gates in the market to sanitise people who enter and exit the iconic market. The walk-through kiosk has water sprinklers fitted with sensors that will start the motor and spray the disinfectant (a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide) on traders and customers as soon as they enter the market.

It's been started on an experiment basis right now because the Kolkata Municipal Corporation apparently wants to consult experts to make sure that hydrogen peroxide does not cause harm to the people. But, hey, it's a great initiative for sure!
