Take Part In War Of Words At Oxford Bookstore

Throwback to debates and Mock United Nations in school or college at the The George Orwell Debate, to be held on June 29 11.30 am onwards. The event coincides with the birth anniversary of Eric Arthur Blair, known best by his pseudonym George Orwell.

Think of it this as a one-of-a-kind freestyle debate where you are given a topic and have to put forward your most persuasive argument under five minutes. The medium of expression can be Hindi, English or Bengali. The topic for the debate is 'Is Democracy the new Big Brother?' 

It is one of the oldest bookstores in the city, and another one of those iconic places on Park Street.
