What Makes It Awesome

It's fascinating how as kids we don't understand the value of returning to nature, and only when we are mature adults do we realise the importance of a retreat. And when it comes to a retreat, what better than escaping to the hills, precisely, The Glenburn Tea Estate in Darjeeling.

Started by a Scottish tea company, Glenburn dates back almost two centuries, to 1859! This tea plantation estate is everything a nature lover can ask for, with scenic views of the high & grand Kanchenjunga range, in the company of exquisite birds and butterflies. The landscape and environment is almost as perfect as in a story book description.

The estate has a total of eight suites divided between two bungalows. The Burra Bungalow consists of The Planter's Suite, The Rose Suite, The Kanchenjunga Suite and the Simbong Butterfly Room. The Rung Dung, Camelllia, Rangeet and Singalila suites constitute the Water Lilly Bungalow.

Let us tell you, one doesn't have to be a poet, author or artist to bask in the lap of nature while indulging in thoughts of creative imaginations. Because Glenburn offers a lot of things which can be done such as to explore the surreal surroundings due to its close proximity to Lamahatta and Tukdah forest. Additionally, both Darjeeling and Kalimpong are close from Glenburn, in case you think that morning breakfast at Glenary's or Keventers is calling you.

Apart from this, one can also avail a visit to the tea factory, a toy train ride from Ghoom to Darjeeling and back, fishing on Rangeet river, massage treatments, beauty treatments and much more.

The Glenburn tariff includes chauffeur-driven car to and from Glenburn Tea Estate, all meals, transport for all activities, nature and bird walks through private forest areas, tour of the tea estate & factory, and day trips to Darjeeling or Kalimpong.
