Indie Brands To Craft Workshops: This Fashion Edit Is Where We Are Headed To This Weekend
12 Jan 2019 - 13 Jan 2019
A perfect opportunity to explore new trends, pick up latest fashion, stock up on exquisite handcrafted artworks and listen to the design gurus talk, the Kolkata Kettle pop-up is just where you need to be. A two-day fashion edit, Kolkata Kettle will showcase art and craft works by designers, craft studios, NIFT graduates and even indigenous artisans to empower women through skill development. From indie brands like Bhomra, The Kutch Studio, Ci Va Ra to well-known houses like Delhi's The Shop, this could be your best place to pick couture to pret, handloom and rare crafts.
We will be hitting up this event to check out Galaang Gabaan's Odisha-inspired fashions, Vrimansha's fabric waste upcycled home stuff, The Woodpicker's handcrafted distressed furniture, ENBBE's exclusive menswear, Her-Loom's Naga weaves and Picolines's beautiful handpainted cards.
Entry is absolutely free! You can sign up for enriching workshops such as one on Mata ni Pachedi, a Gujarat art form, natural dye workshop by Vishwabharati designers and a presentation on appliqué work by master craftsman, Kartik Chauhan.
You can attend the panel discussion on January 13th with well-known designer Bibi Russell, model Nayanika Chatterjee and city designers like Vivek Kumar, Amalraj Sengupta, Rimi Nayak and others.
Make A Note
Take your bubs along and make a beeline to Yogita Chaudhury's stall where you can actually get 3D impressions of your sweethearts cast in metal. They make for real nostalgic keepsakes.
The event is happening at 43, Ironside Road, Ballygunge Park, Kolkata 700019. For any queries, contact Rashmi Chowdhary at 9830072278.
