A forest-themed restaurant, Machaan's interiors are a tropical paradise with faux plants, sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling thanks to the soft breeze - proper Jungle Book scenes. It's quite a dimly lit and green place like you would expect to see in a jungle. The staff is polite and know the menu really well, so make sure you ask them for recommendations.
Start off with the Multani Chaat (palm pressed baby potatoes tossed in their in-house 'saunth chutney') or the Paneer Rawalpindi (cottage cheese cooked inside a clay oven flavoured with black pepper and spices). The Bhatti Murgh is the dish to order if you love chicken but if it's lamb that you prefer, then Raan-E-Machaan (roast lamb leg) and Gilafi Seekh Kebab (barbecued minced lamb laced with onions and capsicum) will steal your heart. The kebabs are soft, juicy and tender full of flavours.
For mains, you must order the Subz Dum Jaisalmeri (veggies simmered in a hing flavoured cashew yoghurt gravy) and the Pind Da Chana. Order a Butter Naan or Masala Kulcha on the side and you're all set for a heavenly meal. If you're a meat person, then the Gosht Roganjosh is a must-try. Sucker for fish? Try the Freshwater Bhetki in a Dahi Methi/Kali Mirch/Masala gravy. It's out of the world!
Finish it all of with their special Shakurewali Malai Phirni Rice Pudding or the Honey Almond Kulfi - you're not going to regret it!
