What Makes It Awesome

If we are honest to ourselves, we all had been waiting for this in some way or the other. Oudh 1590's the Great Biryani Festival comes to fill our tummies with its seventh edition.

When it comes to biryani, we all know that Oudh is one of the best in the biz in the city, and we can rely on its safety and hygiene standards. Hence, we can be sure of enjoying some sumptuous Lucknowi cuisine, served on our plates. The festival is running in all the four outlets -- Deshapriya Park, Southern Avenue, Salt Lake and Jessore Road. Even though the option of dining-in is available, we think (and even the restaurant thinks) that it's better to get the food delivered.

So what can we order? The list includes Sugandhi Murgh Biryani, Murgh Yakhni Biryani, Shikari Bater Biryani, Shikari Hansa Handi Biryani, Awadhi Nargisi Biryani, Keema Biryani, Gosht Yakhni Biryani, Mahi Kofta Biryani, Yakhni Jheenga Biryani, Shahi Subz Soya Biryani and Shahi Subz Kofta Biryani. Among these, we would recommend trying the shikari bater, shikari hansa and awadhi nargisi biryani. The hansa is made with duck, bater is made with quail bird and nargisi is made with boiled eggs coated with minced lamb. Yes, now we are confused!

The biryanis are priced between INR 275-500.

Pro-Tip

The timings for dine-in are 12-9 pm but for delivery it is 12-10:30 pm. The festival started on July 13 and will continue till Aug 14.
