What Makes It Awesome

Plan to flee the city, briefly? For your quiet retreat or an adventurous getaway, the Saraswatipur Tea Resort in Doars makes for a lovely destination for your next long-weekend vacay.

We loved getting lost in Milne's 100 Acre Wood, but the 1000 acres of Saraswatipur Tea Estate is no less enticing to get away from the real world. More than a century old, the stubby short bushes of the tea estate covers around 1000 acres of the Baikunthapur Forest in Doars. And at the centre of this estate sits a luxurious resort where you can hole for an experiential stay.

Located conveniently just 20 km away from the NJP station and 40 km away from the Bagdogra airport, this resort is a perfect spot to escape the touristy crowd and enjoy nature. Plush interiors done up to recreate a rustic charm, the rooms come equipped with modern amenities for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Wake up to a view of endless miles of greenery as you sip on fine tea in the balcony. There's the poolside to soak up the sun and breathe in some fresh air or tuck yourself in the library to enjoy a good book. Chill with the gang in the games room playing a hand of TT or get rowdy over some board game.

Ensconced in the lush greenery you wouldn't want to meddle with this clean colourful brilliance. Take one of their many cycles to tour around the estate or walk around the woods. Carry those binoculars and cameras with you because spotting deer, elephants and rare water birds from Central Asia like the Great Crested Grebe, Greylag Goose, Bar Headed Goose and others aren't to uncommon here.
