Enjoy A Lavish Spread Of North Indian, Mughlai & Afghani Food At This Restaurant In City Centre

What Makes It Awesome

Hungry after that tiring shopping spree? Then, drop everything and head straight to Kaafila, located on the third floor of City Centre in Salt Lake. Trust us, you won't return disappointed.

Kaafila basically represents the cooking style of the nomads who would wander from one place to another using influences from those places that eventually led to the birth of a whole new cuisine called the North West Frontier Province. The restaurant's food reflects exactly that through their lavish spread of North Indian, Mughlai and Afghani dishes.

The decor of the place is also very Afghani in style with cloth-covered ceilings, rugs and upholstery reflecting the culture and traditions of the country. If kebabs and tandoor dishes are your thing, then go for the Nawabi Jalpari, Kandahari Laham and the Makai Ke Makhmali Sikanj. They're all marinated in different aromatic spices and cooked in the tandoor

For mains, you have to try the Khurmi and Keema naan. They have enough stuffing inside to be eaten on their own. But if you want something on the side, try the Tehari Murgh (a whole dumpukht chicken combined with mutton keema and basmati rice) directly from the kitchen of the Lucknowi Nawabs. But if it's mutton that has your heart, go for the Kid-Nu-Gosht (mutton cooked with baby potatoes in a spicy almond gravy). Vegetarians must try the Subz-e-Amritsari, Dal Pakhtooni (their version of kaali dal) and their chef special Chole Dhania Masala.

Wash it all down with a Shirley Temple (a blend of orange juice, lime juice, strawberry crush, ginger ale, rose syrup and soda) or Irish Cream if coffee and chocolate is what gets you going. A meal is never complete without dessert and it'd be a crime if you leave Kaafila without trying their Kesaria Firni and Boulawnee (an Afghani pastry made with dry fruits served with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream).
