Brainchild of actress Debasree Roy, this is a registered non-profit organisation in Kolkata that has been working for the cause of stray animals since 2009. They believe that “one animal homed is one animal off the streets”, and work hard to rescue injured and sick dogs and put them in good homes through adoption.

People For Animals

People For Animals is India’s largest animal welfare organisation with a nationwide network of 26 hospitals, 165 units and 2.5 lakh members. They rescue and rehabilitate sick and needy animals.

They set up and run shelters, ambulance services, sterilisation programs, treatment camps and disaster rescue missions for animals. People For Animals also conduct education programmes in schools, fight cases in court and lobby on animal issues in parliament.
