What Makes It Awesome?

Shanghigh: My love for pan-Asian/oriental food led me to try out this place last week. It is hands down one of the most beautiful restaurants I have visited/seen in recent times. The owner has placed utmost prominence towards nitty-gritty of every nook of the place, oh and they have a wonderful set up at the entrance too. Pricing wise it surprised me given the location, it has placed very generous pricing giving a strong competition to its neighbouring places. I won't be surprised if this place turns out to be the ultimate place in Kamala mills in few weeks/months. They have this unique old era Chinese supper club concept with live performances between Monday to Thursday and it certainly is a refreshing concept to experience.

We kicked off with

Dimsums – Classic Edamame Truffle, Pok Choy Shiitake, Prawn spring roll with Tamarind Chilli and Chicken and Chestnut. All were rockstars however the best out of the lot was the edamame and prawn offering. Where edamame had smooth silkiest texture, the prawn was fresh and had the delicious taste to it overall. The outside wrap was nice and not overly thick.

In Tapas – Whiskey tossed Mandarin Chicken Skewers & Drunken Whole Prawns. The skewers were served on a hot charcoal grill and had a really good smoky texture on every bite. It was one of the best. Prawns were well balanced on flavours but somehow it had little overpowering of citrusy.

In mains – Tsing Hoi chicken and BBQ’d tofu and avocado dolsot with blue egg fried rice and chicken spinach noodles. Overall mains were vibrant in colours and a generous amount of freshest ingredients. Rice and noodles are their highlights.

In desserts – White chocolate brownie and Matcha delight. No one serves white brownie except this place so we were bound to try it whats so special about it. This was sinful from the first glimpse to the pouring of white chocolate and reminiscing the famous chocolate brownie with a twist. Matcha, on the other hand, was nice velvety-textured mousse on a dark chocolate surface.

Overall it’s a gem of a place that I recently discovered and would love to visit it soon. I rate this place a 5.
