Know a hangla Bong or are one yourself? Treat yourself to authentic Bengali food at one of the best food joints in Mumbai – The Calcutta Club.

It's The Real Deal

As a homesick Bengali in a love affair with food, have you felt lied to, cheated and begrudged by several restaurants claiming to serve Bengali food? Or perhaps you’ve been lazy to travel to Powai, where as you know, most of the good Bengali restaurants are at.

Either way, we’d like to introduce you to Andheri’s pride and joy when it comes to this cuisine – The Calcutta Club in case you already didn’t know}. The name may ring a familiar bell, but this little restaurant has little {or none} to do with Kolkata’s prestigious social club. Here, the concept is simple. Come to a mini ‘Cal’ and immerse yourself in the food.

You must go here for the aloo posto, pabda fish, mutton jhol, and the variety of fish, meat and the mind blowing kobiraji cutlets. In case you want to gorge on the Bengali staple, go for the luchi and cholar dal/ aloo dum combination {we suggest having this combo with the kobiraji cutlets for starters}.

End your wholesome, delicious meal with some mishti doi or rasgulla. Don’t forget to drink their aam pora or aam panna to wash down all the food and bhajas you’re consuming.

Anything Else?

There is often Rabrindanath Tagore’s songs playing in the restaurant, and posters of Bengali personalities on the walls. The service is usually quick, but you should avoid going there during rush season such as Durga Puja season or during the Bengali New Year.

So, We're Saying...

Grab a friend, cancel all other plans and sit here devouring one dish after another. You will convert a non believer into a Bengali food lover and be satisfied yourself.
