Mumbai never ceases to amaze. And we’ve just heard something awesome- as per this report, the suburban beaches of Mumbai- Versova, Marve, Madh, Aksa- are likely to get shacks a la Goa-style.

Say Whaaat?

It seems like it’s true- Mumbai beaches are in all probability going to get Goa-like shacks that will serve delish food and cater to all the needs of the travellers. As reported in TOI, “the state has decided to frame a beach-shack policy in a bid to promote tourism at the seafront.”

While we’re yet to know if the shack operators in Mumbai will be allowed to serve alcohol or no, we still think it’s a great idea. Who wouldn’t want to stare at the sea while lounging around at a shack? Best part? You will have amazing food. An official was quoted as saying, “Minister of state {tourism} Madan Yerawar wants to frame a policy along with the comprehensive beach tourism development plan for the coast to be ready in a month. It will be tabled before the cabinet for approval.”

It’s also reported that there shacks will have basic facilities such as showers, toilets, changing rooms, beach-safety equipment and first-aid kits.

So, We're Saying...

Never thought you’d say this day coming? Well, we hope this materialises because we sure see ourselves hanging out at these beach shacks with some tasty food for company. Fingers crossed!
