Ten-Second Takeaway

Fight against diabetes and help create awareness by signing up for a cyclothon organised by IIT Bombay on Sunday, October 9.

Cycle For A Cause

In order to create awareness, this cyclothon is an initiative by IIT Bombay as part of their programme CURED {Can You Really Escape Diabetes}. Through this, they are hoping to bring about a change in the lifestyle of people, especially regarding regular health check-ups.

Want to take part in the January Marathon but are not trained enough for it? We say - this is your chance to get involved with something similar in cause. It's a free event and anyone can sign up for it - all for the betterment of our well being.

If you don't own a bicycle, you can easily rent one for INR 500 and upwards. The route laid is pretty simple, as the cyclothon will start form the KV grounds at IIT Bombay and then will cover the area in a circle within Powai and ends at SAC, IIT Mumbai. This area of Powai is lush, green and quiet but the best bit is it's early in the morning so you'll be able to skip the morning traffic. From kids above the age of 12 to 70 year olds, anyone is welcome to take part and cycle.

So, We're Saying…

Need to push yourself and get onto some hardcore physical activity? Do this - and fighting against a disease that's been affecting India severely {we rank 3rd in the world with the maximum amount of diabetic cases}. Sign up with your friends, family members or do it all by yourself {2k16 goals?}.

When: Sunday, October 9

Timings: 5.30am to 7.30am
