Start High

By high we mean the view. You can visit the Ghosalgad fort, a spot famous for having served as a way to look out for the enemy in the past. Today, it is best known for its architecture, design, caves, rock-cut water cisterns, and the history it holds.

P.S: Carry binoculars to get a better picture and obviously, a camera to get all the photos you need

The Journey Is The Destination

Khopoli is a stop that you should make while getting to Kolad. It’s laden with greens, streams, waterfalls and well, a water park. Make a fun stop out of Imagica of you want, but mind you, keeping the time factor in mind, you might want to keep a tab.

Live The Adventure

Known as the ‘Rishikesh of Maharashtra’ Kolad is most popular for white-water rafting, which takes place on the river here. Rafting is done on a stretch of 13-14 kms on the river with grade II, grade III and IV rapids provided by the water. You can either go directly to the venue in Yeral Sutarwadi Road near Kundalika river and contact the professionals or book your experience via Thrillophilia.

Shell Out: INR 1,500 onward (bargain well)

P.S: There are other activities like archery, rifle shooting, small Burma bridge, commando crossing and even a Tarzan swing that you can sign up for.

Lunch Time

Lunch will lead you to your destination - Kolad, a village, in Raigad district. Shreekar The Dhaba is a good choice if you want your plate greasy with tasty Indian fare. The eatery is favourite with most people taking this route, so one can expect fairly good hospitality, good food and decent toilets (very important)

Shell Out: INR 300 onward

Take A Stroll

Kolad is blessed to have a few lakes in and around and one of them is the Sutarwadi lake that's not just pristine but also offers spectacular views of the valley. You can sit by and watch time pass by slowly.

Head Back To Pavilion

Wind up and head back, after an eventful outing. And while you're still on the highway or just approaching the city, stop by Red Tomato in New Panvel for a quick drink and dinner. Drivers do not get to drink, obviously. With a dinner thrown in, you’ll be back by 11PM.
