Don’t expect the Simpsons at D:OH! but do pour yourself a glass of pint, sit on swings and enjoy a plate of peanut poppers at the newest cafe in Kamala Mills set to open to the public on Valentine’s Day.

The One With The Central Perk Vibes

D:Oh has been started off by the same people running the fine-dining chains like Indigo and Indigo Deli. Breaking away from the luxury space comes in D:OH! with its friendly cafe vibe. Keeping the decor casual and quirky with their bricked walls and plush white wall on either sides of the cafe, we had our eyes on the swing seating. Oh how the notorious child in us wanted to swing away. Also to checkout: a wooden rack in the corner for games and lego.

They are all about the ‘serve yourself philosophy’. The idea is to let the diners pour their own pint of beer or sangria after paying at the counter {from their tap}. We’re guessing since America maybe a bit tough to get to may as well get the cafes here, but hey, we aren’t complaining! If you’re looking for a quick bite, they also have a ready-to-eat counter with cold sandwiches {INR 150 upwards}, freshly made juices {INR 100 a pop}, buttermilk, coffee and bread and croissants. Got five minutes? Pick a fresh salad box and you’re good to go.

Chow Down

We were told by the chef that the menu at the cafe comes with no cuisine boundaries – non-restrictive, utilitarian and affordable. We plonk ourselves on the swing – our cosy seat for the day – and decide to dig in.

The dishes {both vegetarian and non-vegetarian ones} come in good portions and across cuisines. Every table comes with a set of six sauces: cheesy, mayonnaise, and the spicy variations. Ever heard of spiced mozzarella and peanut poppers? Neither did we and were we pleasantly surprised. The poppers {INR 199} are fried, soft and oh-so-cheesy with peanuts in between like the kinds that goes perfectly with a pint of beer. Their Amritsari fish and chips {INR 249} was succulent and fresh, which we followed up with a plate of their crispy sriracha chicken wings {INR 222}. It comes with a dip on onion ranch dressing and its A+++.

Everything from the sauces to bread to dips are made in-house. They also serve breakfast from 9.30am to 11.30am and it’s a simple but affordable fare.

Sip On

Add this to your must-go-to-place for their crazy freakshakes {INR 299}, to creamy hand whipped milk shakes {INR 166 upwards} and fresh juices. They will also be serving wine, beer and cocktails once the license comes through but just a heads up; they have a dedicated section of beer cocktails!

So, We're Saying...

D:OH! is the cafe we could potentially call our version of the Central Perk. Of course, we won’t have Gunther serving us coffee there but hey, Instagram the hell out of it and get swingin. They open to the public on February 14, so mark your calenders and whatsapp your group right away.
