What’s It About?

Zamorin of Bombay, a tour company by Viren De Sa {also your tour guide} will be organising customised tours throughout the festival for patrons to indulge in the rich cultural history of Ganesh Chaturthi all the while immersing themselves in the festivity of the streets.

What Can We Expect?

An all inclusive tour {transportation, refreshments, tickets to places} for people. There are three types of tours that will be conducted – morning tour, evening tour and an experiential tour. A standard walking morning tour {approx 3 hour} would entail – starting off from the Churchgate station at 9am, moving on to Dadar {on the local train} to explore the bylanes of Dadar. There you can interact with the local artisans who sculpt the Ganesh idols and even visit the flower market to pick up hibiscus {an especially popular flower during the festivities}. Next stop would be at the Sidhivinayak Temple and ending off at Dadar Chowpatty to see the visarjan.

The evening tour is between 6pm and 7pm, beginning from the Churchgate station. Then after taking the train to Charni road, head to Khotachiwadi for interacting with the Hindu and Christian community.

There is also an ‘experience it all’ tour which will take place from September 5 to September 15, and will include a trip to Balganga in Walkeshwar, followed by a visit to Khotachiwadi and Khetwadi in Girgaon.
