What's Happening?

If you’re new in Mumbai, or just want to rediscover the city during this Ganesh Chaturthi, this tour will let you experience the madness a local’s way. Zamorin of Bombay, a tour company by Viren De Sa (also your tour guide) will be organising customised tours throughout the festival for patrons to indulge in the rich cultural history of Ganesh Chaturthi all the while immersing themselves in the festivity of the streets.

What Makes It Awesome?

An all-inclusive tour (transportation, refreshments, tickets to places) for people. There are three types of tours that will be conducted – morning tour, evening tour and an experiential tour. A standard walking morning tour (approx 3 hour) would entail – starting off from the Churchgate station at 9am, moving on to Dadar (on the local train) to explore the bylanes of Dadar. There you can interact with the local artisans who sculpt the Ganesh idols and even visit the flower market to pick up hibiscus (an especially popular flower during the festivities). Next stop would be at the Sidhivinayak Temple and ending off at Dadar Chowpatty to see the visarjan. The evening tour is between 6pm and 7pm, beginning from the Churchgate station. Then after taking the train to Charni road, head to Khotachiwadi for interacting with the Hindu and Christian community. There is also an ‘experience it all’ tour which will include a trip to Balganga in Walkeshwar, followed by a visit to Khotachiwadi and Khetwadi in Girgaon. Khetwadi is known for its exorbitant pandals (tents that house the idol) that compete against one another.

Price Includes

Maximum capacity of the group will be 10 and he will even do it for just one person. Price: Per person INR 2,000, For 3-5 people in a group it comes down to INR 1,500 per person. For groups above 5, the price is INR 1,000 per person. Experience tour INR 3,000 per person, INR 2,500 for 3-5 and INR 2,000 per person for a group of above 5. 

These tour will happen on September 14, 15 and 16.
