A little birdie told us that our fave Asian gastro restaurant is now opening a branch in Powai, and we couldn’t be more excited {and hungry}. Dim sum any one?

Bao Wow

After Bandra, then Kamala Mills, this is its third opening. Located in Hiranandani Gardens, this restaurant is going to be big with a 75-seater capacity, and on the plus side, has an outside patio area as well.

The vibe, we’ve been told will be largely like the one in Kamala Mills, which is a more sophisticated setting. The interiors are always well done and quirky chic with hand painted illustrations, customised wallpaper, woven cotten upholstery on the seats, and this time around, there will be a glimpse of the Powai lake to feast our eyes on as well.

When it comes to the food, we will always recommend our favourite vegetarian mushroom and paneer bao and the salmon carpaccio. They also have a new section for small plates – sichuan wonton with pork mince and scallops in XO sauce. There will, of course, also be delicious larger plates with udon noodles, pan seared tofu withs soba noodles, . They also have new desserts coming up including a mango-base dessert, a pomegranate and raspberry sorbet and more.

So, We're Saying...

The date of opening is  be April 24, and it opens for lunch at noon.  Can’t wait, can you, Powai?
