Shortcut

The Mejwani thali originates from the Konkan and Desh regions of Maharashtra, and we can now try out its unique flavours at the Marathi Mejwani Food Festival at the Sheraton in Navi Mumbai.

Chow Down

The menu has been put together to commemorate the shravan period. We can look forward to dishes such as cabbage and moong dal koshimbir {a crunchy and fresh salad}, kothimbir wadi {crispy coriander fritters}, vangyacha bharit {spicy mashed aubergines}, bharli vaangi {stuffed brinjals}, birdyachi usal { spiced, lightly tangy and slightly sweet coconut based field beans sprouts curry} and tomato saar {soup}. Classic dessert preparations like amrakhand {mango shrikhand} and puran poli {a sweet flat bread} will round off the meal.

So We're Saying...

The festive season has always been about feasting for us, and a little vegetarianism isn’t going to come in the way of that, especially when it’s so delicious and affordable.
