Love is love, and India has a first LGBTQ-centric radio show, Gaydio, that wants to spread the message {and love}.

Let's Talk About It

If we are to believe Freddie Mercury, video may have killed the radio star. But in this case, we hope that this time, radio kills the discrimination, prejudice and spite faced by the LGBTQ community.

Gaydio is a new radio show hosted by LGBTQ activist, Harish Iyer and it’s all about acceptance. Aired by Ishq 104.8 FM in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, this is a brave attempt at talking about gender rights and equality, and the radio is a great medium to reaching out to people.

The show shares real love stories of people in the Indian LGBTQ community and encourages people to talk about their experience as well. As per this article in India Today, the estimated LGBTQ population in India is said to be about 2.5 million people and yet there’s such little conversation about it. Making a move like such as this is incredible and very progressive for India.

So, We're Saying...

Switch on the radio Ishq 104.8 FM at noon on Sunday, and spread the word as widely as you can.
