Food First is a glass-ceiling atrium dining hall with some very tasty options for Indian food, as well as some European dishes which attracts a lot of hungry people near its location in the DLF Tower in Malad.
Food First is a good location to head to for lunch, since they have a lot of express lunch and buffet options for that hour. They also have executive lunch and Sunday brunch options, which at INR 495 and INR 645 respectively are good bang for the buck options. They also have an extensive curry list – both vegetarian and non-vegetarian – as well as a health section, full of grilled goodies.
We tried the kaali mirch chicken, the chicken fried rice, the grilled paneer and the fish florentine. The food was fresh and well-cooked, and the quantities were huge – we ended up not being able to finish what we had ordered.
Food First has an extensive alcohol and mocktails – we accompanied our meal with a couple of mugs of Bira beer. They also have good pitcher options if you’re in a group.
The ambiance of the restaurant might be the best part of the experience. The glass ceilings, spacious interiors and music being played at the right volume all contribute to making it a relaxing spot for lunch. They also have a projector screen, making the place ideal for sports lovers to catch the latest match over some drinks. The place can get crowded, so be prepared for a little bit of waiting time on busy nights.
